Welcome to the Grand Master Kim's World-class Taekwondo & Hapkido Academy. Our School provides quality instruction in ‘WT’ Olympic Style Taekwondo and Hapkido self-defense. We are an official WT (World Taekwondo Federation) and KUKKIWON (World Taekwondo Headquarters) member. We teach in accordance with The World Taekwondo Federation and KUKKIWON regulations.
Grand Master Kim was born and raised in South Korea, and he moved to the United States in 2008. He started teaching in Iowa where his US work visa sponsor located. Later, he finally moved to Texas. He currently teaches at Eagle Rock Martial Arts in Bullard. He took ownership in January 2024 and has grown the school considerably since then. He is now opening a location in Tyler making it first branch school. When Master Kim was in Korea, he made a successful story as an athlete, coach, instructor, and referee. Following his move to the United States, he continued to become a decorated athlete and has won numerous awards such as World President Cup Champion, US Open Champion, National Champion, World’s best referee award, and many others.
Grand Master Kim began practicing Taekwondo at the young age of 8 in South Korea. His father encouraged him to take up martial arts as a means to strengthen his self-defense skills and mental development. Master Kim has dedicated years of his life to this passion. He has been recognized for his abilities throughout elementary school, middle school, college, and even a Military Special Team. He first opened a TKD school in Cheon-An, South Korea after deciding that he wanted to share his knowledge and foster growth in those who are desirous of learning Tae Kwon Do.
Grand Master Kim’s experience instructing young students has earned him an exceptional reputation. He understands that young martial artists need guidance, and he strives to instill in them Respect, Discipline, and Self-control – all of which are values that reach beyond the dojang(school) into all facets of life. His devotion to mentoring students is clear from the individualized instruction he provides for his students.
